The problem we kept seeing
Over the last few years, we have sat with hundreds of finance teams across Africa. Different industries, different sizes, but the same story every time.
The people running finance are good at their jobs. They are not careless, and they are not slow but buried in routine and manual busywork. Their week disappears into work that is necessary but low-value: searching and keying invoices in from email, sending the third reminder to the same late-paying customer, scanning a spreadsheet of contracts for renewal dates, and answering the same question about the expense policy for the fifth time. By the time they get to the work that needs real judgment, forecasting, cash flow, the decisions that grow a business, the day is gone.
The numbers back this up. A recent survey of more than 1,700 finance leaders found that most still do the majority of their work by hand, and nearly half lose more than ten hours a month just fixing errors in their own numbers. That is more than a full working day, every month, spent correcting mistakes instead of running the business.
We realised something important: most finance teams don’t have a headcount problem. They have a problem with where and how their time is being spent.
Too much of it goes into manual work, chasing approvals, reconciling expenses, and fixing processes, instead of focusing on the work that actually moves the business forward.

Chaser, your receivables specialist: Chaser automatically follows up on overdue invoices across email, SMS, and WhatsApp, timing each message to help businesses get paid faster. When a customer can't pay in full, Chaser negotiates a payment plan or part settlement to recover the receivable instead of writing it off. It also keeps records clean by flagging uncategorized transactions and missing proof of payment. And when human judgment is needed, Chaser hands the conversation to your team.
Watchdog, your controls specialist: Watchdog monitors every transaction, vendor, and contract in real time. It catches the duplicate payment, the anomaly, and the contract about to auto-renew, and it ranks what it finds by severity so the urgent things surface first. It flags, a person decides and helps save you from what would have cost you even more.
Concierge, your knowledge specialist: When someone in your business asks "can I expense this?" or "are we still under contract with this vendor?", Concierge gives them an instant, correct answer pulled from your own policies, with the source shown. Your finance team stops answering the same questions, and your policy is actually enforced. And if Concierge does not know something, it says so and asks to be trained, rather than making it up.
But here is what makes BRAIN unique. The Teammates work as a team instead of a stack of point solutions you have to stitch together and audit separately. They run on the same connected ledger that is already inside Bujeti, the control layer you already trust with your money. So an invoice that Fetch captures is the same record that Watchdog is watching for anomalies, and a payment that Chaser collects is already reconciled in your books. One action, felt across the whole system, with nothing re-keyed and nothing lost between tools.
Built with control at the core
We know the first question every finance leader asks: can I trust AI with my money? We built BRAIN around the answer. A human is always in the loop on anything that moves money. Every Teammate operates within limits you set, and anything sensitive stops for a person to approve. Below your confidence threshold, a Teammate escalates to a human rather than guessing, and every action is logged to a full audit trail. You control each Teammate independently, so you can turn one on, prove it, and extend from there. And your data is encrypted, isolated to your organisation, and never used to train anyone else's models.
Enterprise-ready, from setup to security
Getting started with BRAIN does not mean a long implementation project. If you are already on Bujeti, you connect your sources, tell each Teammate where your financial information lives, and preview what it finds before anything goes live. You turn on one Teammate at a time, at your own pace, and expand as your confidence grows.
On security and data privacy, we built BRAIN to meet the standard a serious finance team and its auditors expect:
You own your data, always: Customers retain full ownership of their data. It is yours, and it stays yours.
A strict zero-data-retention policy with our AI vendors: The AI providers (sub-processors) that powers BRAIN do not retain your data after processing it.
No model training on your data: Your data is never used to train AI models, ours or anyone else's.
Your information is encrypted, isolated to your organisation, and handled with the controls your governance requires. BRAIN is powerful because of what it does with your data inside Bujeti, not because it shares it anywhere else.
Where BRAIN goes next
Today is a starting line, not a finish. The Teammates you meet now will get sharper the more they work inside your business and learn your context. We are also building toward two things we are especially excited about.
The first is a bigger role for Chaser: Today it recovers your overdue invoices. We are building it to manage debt and loan collection end to end, from the first reminder through to recovery on the hardest accounts. In our early tests, Chaser is delivering a 3.2 times higher recovery rate on the most difficult accounts, the ones a human team would usually write off. That means you can scale collections across every channel without scaling the cost of a collections team, whether you are a lender, a collections agency, or an in-house finance team.
The second is the Bujeti MCP: In plain terms, it is a secure doorway that lets the AI tools you already use connect straight to your Bujeti finance intelligence and act on your behalf, with your permission and your controls. You will be able to ask Claude, ChatGPT, Manus, DeepSeek, or any other AI assistant or coding agent a question about your finances, and it can pull the answer or take an action directly from Bujeti.
